Price Bands
For all events that take place under the University of Sheffield Concerts Programme, the listed ticket prices fall into the following bands:
Full / Concession / Under 30 and Student
Concession tickets are available to people with a disability, people in receipt of state benefits and senior citizens.
Music in the Round concerts only:
Full / Disabled and Unemployed / Under 35 and Student
Sheffield Jazz only:
Full / Concession / Student / Aged 15-17 / Under 15

Telephone bookings are made through our ticketing agent, TicketSource and are subject to a £1.75 booking fee.
Advanced
Advanced tickets can be purchased up to 72 hours before the published start time of the concert. After this time On The Door tickets can be purchased online for an additional £3 per ticket.
On The Door
Left it to the last minute? Tickets will be available on the door on a first-come, first-served basis. Priced at £3 more than the stated advanced ticket price. Doors open 30 minutes before each concert’s stated start time.
Are you a University of Sheffield student? Don’t forget to bring your ID to claim your 10% discount!

Refunds
Please note we are unable to offer refunds on tickets unless a performance is cancelled or changed considerably (for example a change in date).
FAQs
We’re often asked about the ‘golden rules’ of going to a concert. When do you clap? What happens if you are late? What should you wear?
We want you to come to our concerts and relax, enjoy the music and have a brilliant time. So we’ve answered a few of these questions below. If we haven’t answered your question, feel free to get in touch!
What time do concerts start and what time should I arrive?

How long do concerts last?
Concert length can differ from each concert but generally our evening concerts are 90 minutes long, plus a 20 minute interval. Our lunchtime and rush-hour concerts generally last between 45 minutes to an hour, and run without a break in the middle. Back to the top
Can I bring my children?
Absolutely! Children are welcome at all our concerts, unless we state otherwise. Back to the top
What time do concerts start and what time should I arrive?
Our evening concerts usually start at 19:30, Rush-Hour Concerts at 17:45 and Lunchtime Concerts at 13:10. Doors open 30 minutes before the concert start time. Sometimes timings can change so check individual event listings too. Back to the top
What happens if I’m late?
Don’t panic. For our evening concerts you will simply be asked to take a seat outside till an appropriate break in the music, when you will be shown to a seat. For Lunchtime and Rush Hour concerts members of the audience are invited to arrive and leave at any point during the concert. Back to the top
What should I wear/Is there a dress code?
Wear whatever you like! Contrary to what people believe, our audience members generally don’t wear dinner jackets and ball gowns. (Although please do if you’d like to!) Back to the top
I’m not musical. Will I enjoy the concert?
Definitely! Firstly you are likely to be more musical then you think; music features in all our lives in one way or another, and you don’t have to be a musical genius to enjoy our concerts. No pre-knowledge is required! Back to the top
Will I recognise any of the music?
The chances are you will recognise a lot more then you’d think. Many of today’s pop music, television/film themes and advertisement themes are taken from classical music. Back to the top
How are concerts ordered and when shall I clap?
Generally the programme (which is free of charge) will give you an idea about how concerts are ordered. As a rule it is normal to clap after every piece rather than each individual movement, but when in doubt just clap when everyone else claps. Back to the top
Will I be able to purchase refreshments?
Refreshments are available to purchase during the interval in our evening concerts. Have a look at our Food and Drink page for more information. Are venues are also situated near a number of bars and restaurants. Back to the top

Look out for our pre-concert talks and workshops? These are great opportunities to discover more about the music and ask any questions you have. Our Lunchtime and Rush Hour concerts are a great taster too, and best of all, they’re free to attend.
