What information do we collect about you?


We collect information on you to support the continuing operation of University of Sheffield Performance Venues. The personal information we collect might include your name, postal address, email address, IP address, the organisation you work for, social media identity, financial and payment card information if you purchase tickets, and any other information you provide as part of feedback on our performances and services. We may also use your photograph if you are an artists/performer to promote your events and the work of University of Sheffield Performance Venues.

How we use your data?

When you purchase a ticket or book an event.
We will retain your name, contact details and contact preferences when you make a purchase from our third – party box office provider (TicketSource/Gigantic). TicketSource/Gigantic will keep a record of your bank or credit card details used to make the purchase, but only temporarily and solely to process your transaction. This information is not permanently stored.

Understanding and developing our audiences
We use various tools including market research and audience profiling to help us understand audiences. This includes gathering information from you if you consent to provide it including demographic information, geographic location, gender, age, and motivations for attendance at our events. This type of information is only provided in an aggregate or anonymised form so that we cannot identify an individual.

Our website uses cookies to track your IP address. Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. How we keep your information safe?


We take our duty to protect your personal information and confidentiality seriously. We are committed to taking all reasonable measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data for which we are responsible, whether computerised or on paper.
Your data is only used by appropriately trained staff or contracted agencies who are processing data on our behalf. The personal information that you provide will be held securely and will not be used for any other purpose than as provided for in this policy. We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary. Records are maintained in line with University of Sheffield Performance Venues retention schedule of 4 years.
